Entry Requirements for Becoming a Medical Herbalist

Herbal medicine is a natural way to restore your body’s ability to promote well-being. In recent years, the interest in herbal medicine has increased among candidates and now the students are approaching the holistic communities for enriching and life changing process.

To be the herbalist, you need to complete a B.SC. degree in herbal medicine that needs to be accredited by the NIMH (National Institute of Medical Herbalists) or may be through other organisations represented by EHTPA (Europeon Herbal & Traditional Practitioners Association).

To get an entry into herbal medicine training courses in U.K. the candidate needs a minimum of five CGES including 2 or 3 A-level, including in Biology.

The courses for the program last for three years full time or for 6 years part-time. The candidate needs to complete 500 hours of clinical training sessions, the subject areas in which include anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, botany, nutrition and conventional medicine.
